Soil. Or as I like to call it PAY DIRT! Soil can be easily taken care of whether you grow a few items for your personal veggie needs in pots and planters, or a complete garden (scarecrow included). Soil is not just a place plants grow their roots in. It is a complex living organism. The constant process of creating new soil is a fascinating subject and it can take many years to learn the finer points of soil chemistry. Most of us don't wish to wait that long and either haven't the tools nor the time. This Organic Gardening site will present you with the basics on good soil management and how to care for all of its parts equally in a natural approach. Your soils quality can be maintained and enhanced in many ways, including incorporation of animal waste (manure), living plants, or plant debris (compost). |
